At our ARU Writtle campus, we specialise in animal, environmental, agricultural and horticultural courses, for learners aged 16 to 18, adult learners, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
About the role:
We are seeking to appoint a Data Support Officer (FE) to support the Business Intelligence Service (BIS) in all data matters, primarily those concerning data quality and statutory reporting of our FE provision delivered through Writtle College.
The post holder will undertake rigorous data quality monitoring and testing across learner and curriculum data, to support accuracy of critical statutory returns, in particular the Individualised Learner Record (ILR).
The post holder will work closely with other service areas across both ARU and Writtle College as part of their role in ensuring accuracy of source data, helping to remedy inconsistencies, and supporting BIS with production of FE management information reports, external data returns, analysis, and fielding queries from other areas of the organisation.
The candidate should have good communication skills, be able to work independently and have a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, all of which are vital in this role. The work will suit someone who is comfortable with extensive use of computer databases, business information tools and spreadsheets, and will need to demonstrate excellent administration skills and a high level of IT literacy, including confidence in using IT systems, ideally in further or higher education.
Has a degree with specific focus on data and analysis, including but not limited to computer or social sciences or mathematics or demonstrated appropriate level of experience and evidence of continuing professional development relevant to the role.
