About Transporter Engineering Limited

Transporter Engineering produce a range of car transporters for the new and second-hand industry with a clear objective of maintaining and enhancing their well-established reputation as market leader and predominant provider in the UK market.

It has built a reputation on delivering quality British built products and currently employs over 140 staff on the Gosfield site. With a supplier base of over 420 companies where 99% of those are located in the UK, many within Essex and surrounding counties.

The company is family-owned and part of the Park Hall Group of companies which are run by the Ripper Family, this includes Ripper Farms and Transporter Sales and Hire.

 

About the role

As part of an Innovate UK funded Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) between ARU and Transporter Engineering Limited you’ll lead a project which will become a cornerstone of Transporter Engineering’s Innovation Strategy.  The successful candidate will play a critical role in refining Transporter Engineering Ltd’s Odyssey transporter, integrating new chassis and drivetrain options, and developing alternative fuel adaptations while ensuring the vehicle maintains core values of strength, longevity, and quality.

 

Although you’ll be employed by ARU, you’ll be based at Transporter Engineering’s offices in Gosfield, Essex.

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or similar CAD software
  • Understanding of alternative fuel technologies (EV, hydrogen, hybrid powertrains)
  • Knowledge of chassis integration, vehicle aerodynamics, and load distribution
  • Project management skills
  • Self-motivated individual with strong team-working and communication skills
