Learning Development Services (LDS) play a pivotal role developing academically credible, business relevant distance learning courses, using learning technologies to enhance student experience and to help equip students with the skills fit for 21st century employment. Sustainability and Environmental Management Degree Apprenticeship Distance Learning Tutor (Part-time, flexible contract, UK home-based)
Level 4 Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (Higher Apprenticeship) / BSc (Hons) Sustainability and Environmental Management (Level 6 Environmental Practitioner Degree Apprenticeship)
We are looking for Distance Learning Tutors to deliver on an online apprenticeship. The role involves managing the delivery and apprentice support of asynchronous module content, discussion posts, activities and email communication. There is an expectation of some synchronous online delivery, as well as periodic face-to-face workshops.
The online module delivery will involve supporting students as they work through the provided self-paced module content. Tutors will host a minimum of 3 live, recorded, webinars per Trimester (12-week duration). Tutors will also provide support to students via the Learning Management Systems (LMS) discussion posts, activities and via email communication. Tutors will complete marking of 1st attempt and resubmissions scripts.
We are particularly looking for tutors with applicable experience and knowledge in;
- Applying sustainability and environmental techniques and principles across a wide range of specialisms.
- Collecting, analysing, and interpreting sustainability and environmental data in line with current best practices, with a focus on identifying and mitigating risks, conducting assessments, and supporting the development of long-term solutions.
- Understanding and applying digital tools and analytical methods commonly used in sustainability and environmental contexts.
- Hands-on experience at both operational and strategic levels, in the specialism of sustainability and environmental management.
- Project management, particularly in multi-stakeholder environments, with an emphasis on delivering positive outcomes and fostering collaboration.
You will also have relevant academic qualifications and a minimum of a full postgraduate qualification in the relevant subject area, along with experience of applying skills, methods and techniques in a learning and teaching environment.
Experience of online course design, as well as experience of delivering on an apprenticeship course is desirable.

The hourly rate for delivery is £49.56 (including marking).
