Distance Learning Tutor (Part-time, flexible contract, home-based)

Criminology BA (Hons)

We have an opening for a Distance Learning Tutor to deliver content via distance learning on our Criminology BA (Hons).

The role involves managing the delivery and student support of the asynchronous module content. Tutors will host a minimum of 3 live, recorded, webinars per Trimester (12-week duration). Tutors will also provide support to students via the Learning Management Systems discussion posts, activities and via email communication as students work through the provided self-paced module content. Tutors will complete marking of 1st attempt and resubmissions scripts.

Ideally the suitable candidate would have strong understanding of at least one contemporary criminological theme, with working familiarity across the others: including violence and victimisation, cyber and digital crime, policing and security practice, crime and rehabilitation pathways and the wider social and cultural contexts that shape offending.

You will have relevant academic qualifications and a minimum of a full postgraduate qualification in the relevant subject area, along with experience of applying skills, methods and techniques in a learning and teaching environment.  You will be IT literate, and student focussed with good communication and interpersonal skills.

Learning Management Systems experience would be desirable, but not essential.
