This is an exciting opportunity to work full time on a 2-year collaborative partnership between Anglia Ruskin University and Stansted Homogenising Systems Ltd, leading the delivery and embedding of formulation and processing expertise via the UK Government sponsored Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP). This project aims to drive innovation, enhance product development, and strengthen the company research and development capabilities, creating a lasting impact within the sector.

About Stansted Homogenising Systems Limited

Stansted Homogenising Systems Limited is a UK registered company specialising in the design, manufacture and global support of industry-leading specialist High Pressure Homogenizers. The homogenisers are primarily used in pharmaceutical,
biotech, cosmetic, food and advanced materials applications and range from laboratory scale for Research & Development purposes right through to production scale.

About the role

This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop and embed expertise in formulation and processing related to high-pressure homogenisation applications, creating a strong knowledge base to support users in selecting optimal formulation and processing methods.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing scalable protocols for homogenisation technology in natural dispersions, ensuring efficiency and consistency across different production scales. They will also refine nanosizing processes, optimising pressure and duration to achieve more efficient, reliable, and less complex applications. A key aspect of the role involves assessing the efficiency of scaled-up equipment to meet the demands of large-scale production for bulk products, providing expertise to guide customers in optimising their processing systems. Additionally, the Research Associate will contribute to the development of an internationalisation model, supporting the company’s expansion into diverse industries and markets.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research while working closely with industry partners to drive innovation, product development, and commercial impact. The role is well-suited to a researcher with expertise in formulation science, process engineering, or a related field, with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to applied research.
