At our ARU Writtle campus, we specialise in animal, environmental, agricultural and horticultural courses, for learners aged 16 to 18, adult learners, undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

 

About the Role:

The role will contribute to developing research outputs in Smart Agriculture, with a focus on plant and crop science and smart vertical farming to enhance plant productivity and sustainability. The post holder will support the Smart Agriculture Group through research and project administration. Responsibilities include conducting experiments, data collection, analysis, and reporting. They will manage projects and collaborations, contribute to publications and presentations, support student supervision, and engage with stakeholders to advance Smart Agriculture research and innovation.

 

You will join us on this exciting project. you’ll bring strong research skills, practical knowledge of techniques in controlled environment agriculture, and the ability to apply these to crop production and plant nutrition, and be capable of interpreting complex datasets and clearly reporting findings. A PhD or postdoctoral experience in a relevant discipline is required. You will demonstrate a strong motivational background, the ability to troubleshoot challenges, manage workloads effectively, and collaborate with internal teams, students, and external partners to advance sustainable agriculture research.
