About the Role:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic researcher to join the Vision and Eye Research Institute (VERI). VERI is part of the new School of Medicine. In the latest Research Excellence Framework review, VERI’s research was rated as world leading.


You’ll work within a multi-disciplinary research team on projects within VERI that examine factors that impact eye and systemic diseases, and the risk and management of eye diseases. You will be expected to use develop research projects using appropriate techniques and methods, write up and disseminate research results, and apply for further funding.


With a first degree in Optometry, Allied or Public Health discipline or Psychology, and a PhD in a relevant vision and eye research area, you will have a comprehensive understanding of qualitative research techniques, a good understanding of research techniques, experience of data collection and data analysis, working with patients and writing research papers. You will have an enthusiastic and flexible approach and good interpersonal and negotiating skills. The ability to speak additional languages will be an advantage.
