About the Role:

The Research & Innovation Development Office is responsible for supporting colleagues across Anglia Ruskin University in fostering world-leading and impactful research, innovation and knowledge exchange activities.

 

We’re seeking to appoint an experienced professional who can take on this role at an exciting time for researcher development at ARU, as we refresh our approach and bring staff and student provision together into a single continuum of opportunity to meet the needs of researchers at all stages of their careers. Working closely with academic research leads and across the ARU researcher community, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the effective coordination and delivery of researcher development, identifying examples of best practice and opportunities for enhancement, to meet the researcher development needs of our academic staff, while leading on ARU’s engagement with external benchmarks such as the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers.

 

Educated at least to degree level, but ideally with a research degree or equivalent experience working in a research environment, you’ll have demonstrable experience of organising and delivering professional development, and undertaking training needs analysis, able to identify, create and implement researcher development activities including specialist programmes for cohorts of specific users. You’ll have excellent project management and analytical skills, and be able to prioritise your workload and successfully manage multiple initiatives simultaneously. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is enthusiasm, flexibility, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service in a busy environment.
