About the role
We are seeking to appoint a Course Director to lead and shape our MA Illustration course within our thriving art school. This is a pivotal academic leadership role, central to the development of a strong course identity and student experience. As Course Director, you will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the performance, growth, and success of the MA Illustration course
- Leading and coordinating the academic delivery team
- Driving curriculum innovation, enhancement, and review
- Creating a collaborative, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Supporting student progression and success
- Contributing to teaching across postgraduate and possibly undergraduate levels
We are looking for a passionate and dynamic academic with:
- Experience of teaching and course leadership in Higher Education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- A current practice in the expanded field of illustration and/or related fields within visual communication
- An active research profile
- Interests aligned with social innovation, contemporary creative practices, and the integration of digital and traditional techniques
- A commitment to inclusive education, innovation, and reflective pedagogical practice
- Experience or interest in student supervision at postgraduate level (desirable)
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to embrace change in a fast-evolving HE landscape
